Silent Auction & Paradise Benefit Show for John Sands - featuring Aimee Mann, Lori McKenna and Ron Sexsmith 1/22

Tomorrow night Friday, 1/21 is the benefit concert for our musician friend John Sands who suffered a massive heart attack in November and is recovering slowly and steadily at Mass General. According to his sweetheart Jess Tardy, it's actually a miraculous recovery. Over the years Huggy Bear's main gigs have been with Aimee Mann and Lori McKenna - but many of us songwriters have had the pleasure of playing our various stringed instruments in front of his drum kit. One of my first solo gigs with a band ever was an Ascap showcase at SXSW in 1997 with John, Paul Bryan on bass and Catie Curtis singing harmony!

So the Paradise is sold out. But you can bid on really great stuff on line at the Team Huggy SILENT AUCTION - autographed posters, concert tix, Aimee Mann original artwork, Red Sox tix... Please support this valiant effort to help John get back on his feet over the next few years... see the link below.

Thanks to those of you who came out to the Kate Taylor Lizard show! Though sparsely attended, the evening was delightful and Kate looked and sounded great - and playing music with Brittany Haas sublime - garjus - delicious! A joy to play as a duo - to reinterpret the songs. She's off to Scotland with Crooked Still today... alas. Maybe in the summer we'll get to do it again?

see you in the clubs,
Jennifer
